 In the 2d horror RPG game "Mermaid Swamp", Rin Yamazaki and her college friends have their car break down in the mountains while on a trip. Fortunately, a kindly old man offers to let them stay at his house. But there's a legend about the swamp outside the mansion...




Name: Rin Yamazaki. Also nicknamed "Yammerzaki", "Yamamonkey", "Yamayucki", among other things- by Seitaro.

Age: 19

Height: 5'5"

Occupation: College student

Appearance: Rin is a young woman with long layered wavy blonde hair and blue-green eyes. Rin wears a light long-sleeved shirt on the inside, a black sleeveless shirt on the outside, blue jean shorts, and brown boots.



Personality: Rin is very playful, abrasive, impulsive and carefree. Although Rin at first seems hot headed, unlikeable and crude, it is eventually revealed that she is very caring and a bit sensitive deep down. She has a very mutually-tsundere relationship with her possible love interest? Maybe? rival Seitaro, and would do anything for her closest friend Yuka. Rin isn't at all book-smart- (in fact you might even say she's outright ignorant), but she can be very astute and intuitive in other ways; particularly when finding solutions to puzzles and immediate problems. She loves to eat meat (especially beef), and doesn't like to clean up after herself. Rin relies very heavily on those around her- especially in the mental and emotional sense. She sometimes hits people when angry, and likes to prank people when bored. What she fears most is loneliness.

Voice: Rin has a very loud and carrying voice when she's "being shouty". There's a slight tomboyish husk to her tone, and she uses very casual/rough/colorful language.



Point in canon: My Rin is pre-canon. Seeing as Mermaid Swamp happens to have 4 VERY different endings depending on your actions, it'd be a little difficult to choose any other canon point. So don't worry about being familiar with her canon or not; at this point, the only thing necessary to know is that she's a regular college student.

Relationship dynamics: Rin gets along best with:

Kind and calm people who she can let her guard down with and open up to
People who are stoic and chill enough to tolerate her bullshit
People who will not tolerate her bullshit and constantly challenge her
Fellow tsunderes whom she can bicker with and care for at the same time
masochists who don't mind getting slapped around a little

Hugging this character: Sure! If you're not a close friend though- expect to be punched. ...If you ARE a close friend, still prepare for the possibility of being punched if she gets too embarrassed. (This is all very dependant on the kind of dynamic she shares with your character. When paired up with someone on the more caring and gentle side, it's much easier for Rin to express herself in turn.)
Kissing this character: Go for it! Though again- punching is possible depending on the situation, and her history with your character. Tsun-tsun-dere-dere.
Flirting with this character: Her response to this will vary; but more than likely she will either become confused, flustered, or not take it seriously at all. -Very possibly all 3. It's also possible that subtle flirting will go right over her head. She's typically not the type to do any serious flirting herself- outside of doing so as an obvious joke or prank just to mess with someone. 



Fighting with this character: Just fine! She's a normal enough girl, though she can pack a mean punch.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Sure; but if it goes as far as gore, please notify/ask me first.
Killing this character: Fine with me, though again- I'd like to be notified first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: No problem.

Shipping/Smut: Is A-OK with me, though I usually prefer some kind of CR build-up beforehand. Slow-burn romance and UST is awesome!



When it comes to romance, Rin is a moron. If someone had romantic feelings for her, she likely would never know it until it were made entirely obvious. Likewise, Rin's immature way of thinking means that she probably wouldn't even be able to properly diagnose or identify her OWN romantic feelings for someone else. This makes crossing the boundary of friendship towards romance very difficult. In the words of Mermaid Swamp's creator (when referring to Rin and Seitaro specifically)-
